SILVER CREEK — A mattress fire outside a home on Andrus Circle in the village has led to charges against a family member.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist a fire and rescue call at a residence around 7:45 p.m. Thursday. An investigation determined that 31-year-old Elizabeth R. Espinosa did leave a family member who is unable to care for his or herself due to a mental disability, thus causing the incident.
Espinosa was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and is to be in the Town of Hanover Court later.
