Forestville Fire Department called two fires

The Forestville Fire Department responded to two fires over the weekend.

According to the fire department’s Facebook page, Saturday around 8:30 p.m. volunteers were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Lodi Street in the hamlet. The upstairs of the house was charged with smoke. Trucks arrived and crews established a water supply and entered the residence to find the source if the smoke. Crews worked diligently to find the fire.

After a while, a fire was found behind a wall in a crawl space. According to the department, a faulty electrical line had burned in several different areas. Power had been secured and no other extension was found.

Then around 6 a.m. Sunday, the Forestville Fire Department and mutual aid responded to 4 Rt 39, in the town of Hanover, for a residential fire.

Members from the Sheriffs Fire Investigation Team responded to assist in determining the origin and cause of the fire. Following the investigation, it was determined that a fire occurred within a dishwasher which spread throughout the residence. No injuries were reported.
