Troubled Jamestown inmate facing drug charges

A man jailed in connection with a pair of deaths has been charged with possession of drugs in the county jail.

For the second time in less than a week, observant Officers prevented dangerous drugs from entering Chautauqua County Jail. During the morning visitation at the county jail on Thursday, Debbie Hires, 56, of Jamestown was observed by corrections officers passing an object to inmate Randall Rolison, 60. Rolison was later found to have placed a package containing methamphetamine into his mouth.

Hires was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, fifth-degree and seventh-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Rolison was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects were arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Program at the Jail.

Rolison killed two people in separate accidents and was sentenced to between 13 and 40 years in prison.

He was given his sentence earlier this month by Judge David Foley in Chautauqua County Court after pleading guilty last June to second-degree manslaughter for the Dec. 31, 2021, accident that killed Lexi Hughan of Jamestown and aggravated vehicular homicide for the Dec. 3, 2022, crash that killed Linda Kraemer while Rolison was free on bail.
