Auto parts store fire cause appears accidental
HANOVER – The cause of a fire at a north county business appears to be accidental.
On Saturday around 9:15 a.m. the Silver Creek Fire Department along with mutual aid from other departments responded to a structure fire at Silver Creek Auto Parts, 1195 Rt 5 & 20, in the town of Hanover. Upon extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation team was requested to conduct an origin and cause investigation. Through interviews and hands-on investigation, it was determined the fire started as a result of sparks from a metal cut off saw coming into contact with cardboard combustibles.
There were no injuries sustained as a result of the fire.
