Cocaine, fentanyl finds lead to charges for city man

A Dunkirk man is in custody after a search warrant was executed at 178 W. Second St., lower apartment, for the second time in six months.

Narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and Jamestown Police Department obtained a search warrant for the residence of Fernando Martinez Jr., 43. Entry was made into the residence by the Dunkirk Police Special Response Team before 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Martinez had been observed leaving the residence prior to the entry and he was detained by Dunkirk Police. As a result of the search, investigators seized 7.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 3.2 ounces of crack cocaine, 28.68 grams of cocaine, 32.24 grams of fentanyl, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics and $396.

Martinez was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Martinez was transported to Dunkirk Police Department and will be arraigned in Dunkirk City Court.
