UPDATE: Jamestown woman dies, two hurt in North Harmony crash

NORTH HARMONY — A rollover accident has claimed the life of a Jamestown woman.

Around 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Route 394 near Carpenter Pringle Road. Upon arrival deputies determined that a 2018 white SUV being operated by 19-year-old Victoria M. Smith of Lakewood was traveling eastbound when it traveled off the road causing the vehicle to rollover.

One of the passengers who was identified as 19 year old Nija T. Slater-Hawkins of Jamestown was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. The third passenger who was pronounced deceased at the scene was identified as 22-year-old Franchesca L. Oneal-Hawkins. Both Smith and Slater-Hawkins were transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., for treatment of their injures. Slater-Hawkins has been released from the hospital while Smith is still being treated.

The investigation is still ongoing.
