Fredonia gun threat leads to two arrests
Two people were arrested Tuesday night after one of them allegedly flashed a gun after an argument at the Fredonia Wal-Mart.
According to a press release from the Fredonia Police Department, officers first learned of the incident from a 911 call about the original argument. “Moments later, a second 911 call was received, explaining that one of the men was displaying a pistol, and pursuing the other in his vehicle.”
The suspect vehicle was found on Bennett Road and officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop with assistance from the Dunkirk Police Department.
The vehicle’s occupants, Juan Cruz Corraliza and Viviana Dejesus Ramos, both of Dunkirk, were transported to the Fredonia Police Department for further investigation, After that they were charged, processed and transported to Mayville for arraignment. They are both currently held in Chautauqua County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
They face charges including second-degree criminal use of a weapon, three different criminal possession of a weapon charges (second, third and fourth-degree), second-degree menacing, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department also assisted with the incident.
