Three city residents charged after troubles with officers

Three Dunkirk residents with a history of trouble with law enforcement were in trouble again last week.

At approximately 4:07 p.m. May 16, a Dunkirk Police Officer observed a subject walking in the area of Lake Shore Drive East and Deer Street who was known to have several active warrants. The subject, Casey P. Crane, 32, of Dunkirk, had confirmed warrants with Fredonia Police, Amherst Police and Cheektowaga Police.

Officers attempted to make contact with Crane and he fled, resulting in a brief foot pursuit. Crane then ran into a local business where he then physically resisted officers.

Officers eventually placed him into custody. As officers ran into the business, they also briefly observed a female who immediately fled the area.

The female, Maria E. Dominguez-Gill, 32 of Dunkirk, was also known to have several active warrants as well. Dominguez-Gill was located shortly after by officers hiding in a bathroom. Dominguez-Gill refused officers commands to exit, and then physically resisted arrest when taken into custody.

As this occurred another female, Maria D. Gill, 60, of Dunkirk, attempted to obstruct officers arresting Dominguez-Gill by physically intervening. Gill was also placed into custody as well. During this Crane attempted to tamper with and destroy evidence located by officers, which consisted of items that Crane had attempted to discard during the foot pursuit.

All three suspects were transported back to police headquarters for processing. Crane was held and charged with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and felony tampering with physical evidence. Crane was also found to have an extraditable warrant from Erie, Pa., and was additionally charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Dominguez-Gill was held and charged with resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration in addition to her several outstanding warrants with Dunkirk City Court.

Gill was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and released on an appearance ticket.
