Gerry man arrested following drug bust

GERRY – A long-term narcotics investigation led to a large cocaine seizure.

On Wednesday, narcotics investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police Department executed a search warrant at 1842 Hanson Road, Gerry with Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office SWAT making entry into the residence.

At the time of the entry, Chaze A. Johnson was located inside the residence. As a result of the search investigators reporting seized 1.3 kilos of cocaine, 7.6 pounds of cannabis, 10.9 grams of MDMA/ecstasy, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics, three loaded semi-automatic pistols, two high-capacity pistol magazines, .22 caliber rifle, and $11,278 of US currency.

Johnson, 32, was charged with first- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a Weapon.

Johnson was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Jail for the centralized arraignment program. Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call and report suspicious or narcotics related activity within their neighborhoods.
