Missing 6-year-old located after extensive search
A missing 6-year-old who went missing Saturday morning was located after an extensive search.
At around 10:03 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police received a report of the missing child in the area of the LoGuidice BOCES on Fredonia Stockton Road in the town of Pomfret. Several agencies and resources were used to help locate the child, including the Fredonia Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS, Alstar Ambulance Service, the New York State Forest Rangers, Chautauqua County Tech Rescue, the Chautauqua County CAST Team, the Dunkirk Police Department and City of Jamestown Police Department Drone Teams, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K9 Division.
At around 11:59 a.m., the child was located by a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputy approximately 1 mile from the incident location in the Canadaway Creek. The child was not injured but was transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital as a precaution.
