Dunkirk firefighters extinguished a bush and shrub fire on Saturday morning near a building.

At 6:24 a.m., the Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched to 60-62 Franklin Ave. Upon arrival, crews found bushes and shrubs burning on the southwest corner of the building. Crews used 1¾ hand line, tools and ventilation fans to extinguish the fire and clear light smoke conditions in a first floor office. The fire was contained to exterior bushes with light smoke conditions inside 60-62 Franklin Ave. Crews remained on scene for 45 minutes. The fire is currently under investigation.
