State Police at Fredonia are investigating a fatal collision on State Route 5 in the town of Portland.

This is an ongoing investigation, trooper said, noting more information will be available at a later time. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Route 5, from Lake Avenue to Pecor Street in Portland, was closed due to the accident.
