Wednesday afternoon, a Dunkirk home on Park Avenue had another decoration added to its Halloween themed display on the front lawn — a vehicle.

A white Volvo sedan veered off the road and struck the Park Avenue home shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday. City of Dunkirk Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene.

According to Dunkirk Police, a young female driver lost control of the vehicle turning onto Park Avenue. The home was located near the end of the street, where a turn off a dirt portion of Lucas Avenue intersects.

The driver showed no signs of impairment and was visibly shaken up at the scene. There were no injuries or other vehicles damaged in the incident.

While the front of the vehicle sustained significant damage, the home appeared structurally intact. Ellman’s Garage promptly responded to the scene to tow the home’s latest decoration.

Starting at $3.50/week.
