Conservation order remains in effect for Fredonia water
A water conservation order remains in effect for village of Fredonia customers due to ongoing drought conditions.
“Please continue to use water wisely and help reduce overall consumption,” the Fredonia Office of Emergency Management noted. “While rain is in the forecast, it’s still uncertain how much it will improve our supply.
Customers are reminded to: fix leaks promptly — even small drips add up; limit lawn watering and car washing; turn off the tap while brushing teeth or shaving; run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads; use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks.
Village officials are holding meetings and monitoring water levels “to ensure safe, reliable service for our community,” the office noted. “Thank you for doing your part during this critical time.”
On Wednesday morning, the village urged all residential and commercial customers to immediately reduce water usage due to worsening drought conditions and low water levels in the Fredonia Reservoir.
