Ripley fire blamed on boiler valve
RIPLEY — A malfunctioning gas boiler valve was blamed in a morning fire.
Around 7:13 a.m. Monday, the Ripley Fire Department and multiple mutual aid departments responded to a residential structure fire on NE Sherman Road in the town. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause probe. Investigators were able to the determine the fire originated in the basement of the structure and caused by gas boiler valve.
