Shawn Cettell

A Westfield man has been charged with two counts of menacing a police officer on Christmas Eve.

Westfield Police report at around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, patrols were dispatched to 7378 Route 20 in the town of Westfield for a reported domestic dispute. After the initial investigation, Shawn Cettell, 38, began being argumentative and went inside the residence.

When patrols were able to make contact with Cettell again, he was standing in the foyer area with a long gun-style rifle in an aggressive manner.

Patrols retreated from the doorway to cover, where numerous verbal commands were given. Cettell did eventually comply with commands and was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment and remains in custody.
