14-year-old charged in burglary
A young teenager was arrested by Dunkirk police following a burglary in the city.
On Thursday around 12:40 a.m.officers responded to a local business for the report of a burglary in progress. They arrived on scene and observed the glass to the front door had been smashed along with foot prints in the snow leading away from the business.
Officers began tracking the foot prints and were able to catch up to the subject. After a brief foot pursuit, the subject was taken into custody. The subject was identified as a 14-year-old juvenile who was in possession of the stolen products from the business.
The juvenile was transported to police headquarters where the individual was issued a Family Court Appearance ticket for third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration.
The juvenile was released into the custody of a parent.
