Morning fire damages Dove Street in city
Crews at 501 Dove St., Dunkirk.
A Friday morning fire damaged a home at 501 Dove St. in the city of Dunkirk.
At 8:26, the Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the second floor of the one and a half story house. Firefighters assisted a resident out of the house and brought the fire under control using two hose lines and tools.
Assistance was received from the Fredonia Fire Department, East Dunkirk Fire Department, Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, City Code Enforcement, City DPW, National Grid and National Fuel.
Crews were on scene for approximately 90 minutes. There were no injuries.
The occupants of the house are being assisted by the Red Cross. City and Chautauqua County Fire Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
