An accident on the New York State Thruway in the town of Evans has claimed the life of a Jamestown woman.

New York State Police report at approximately 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, they responded to a one vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes four miles from the Evans-Angola exit. An investigation determined that a 2003 Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound left the driving lane to the passing lane, then traveled onto the north shoulder causing the Dodge to overturn. One of the passengers, Linda Haney 69, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation are still actively investigating the collision.
