COLLINS — Erie County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in the town, Sheriff John Garcia said Sunday.

At 5:01 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers received a 911 call from the area of 4320 Gowanda Zoar Road. The caller stated there was a great deal of motorcycle debris in the road. Patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon patrol’s arrival, witnesses on scene directed him to an area off the shoulder of the roadway where both

the operator and his motorcycle were subsequently found. The operator – a 23-year-old Collins man – was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will not be released at this time.
