Motorist charged with DWI after striking vehicle, leaving scene in city

A 25-year-old man is facing a number of charges after striking a car that then hit a house on Saturday night. Dunkirk Police reported on Tuesday that at around 8:32 p.m., officers responded to Leming and East Pine Streets for a motor vehicle accident. After a short investigation it was determined the suspect went through a two-way intersection without stopping at the stop sign. The suspect was later identified as Alan Wasserman. Man dies in car-pedestrian accident in Jamestown

A Jamestown resident died Saturday after a car-pedestrian accident on Falconer Street near Bowen Street. Jamestown police reported Monday that officers responded to the scene at 6:08 p.m. Saturday on Falconer Street to find a man had been hit by a motor vehicle. Officers found Kendel R. Bell, 51, lying in the road, unresponsive. Officers tried to provide lifesaving measures until Jamestown firefighters and Alstar Ambulance EMTs arrived on scene. Woman, 18, charged in pair of city incidents

An 18-year-old city woman is facing charges after a pair of incidents last week, including one involving a knife. At 5:11 p.m. Friday, Dunkirk Police were dispatched to a home for the recent theft of a coat. Once on scene the victim stated they and the suspect, Asabela Marrero-Pagan, got into a verbal argument. Marrero-Pagan then took the coat of the victim and left the residence. The victim has a valid order of protection against Marrero-Pagan.
