CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy has recently claimed awards for top performance in several categories among the Job Corps Centers operated by Career Systems Development Corp.

The awards were handed out as part of the annual corporate meeting held recently in Washington D.C. The Academy captured the recognition best six-month placement retention, best data integrity compliance, best student credential rating and exceeding the National average in the student safety survey.

The awards represent high performance across numerous departments at the Academy and impact it in different ways. The credential attainment award and job retention rating directly affect the Academy’s rating and performance measures.

The data integrity rating was the result of an unannounced audit of the Academy’s student records and indicates the Academy has established sound methods and practices of documenting student achievement and accountability.

The student safety rating is established by a survey conducted by the students, amongst the students to determine the comfort level and feeling of safety at the Academy.

Career Systems Development Corp. is the primary contracted operator of nine Job Corps Centers and acts as a sub-contractor on three additional Job Corps Centers throughout the Nation. The performance of Job Corps Centers is measured by the Job Corps Outcome Measurement System and reports the performance of all Job Corps Centers across the country. Job Corps Centers are ranked based on several factors including GED and vocational completions, placement in work, college or the military and student earnings after graduation.

The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy provides career technical training to over 400 students per year, helping to prepare young people to be successful in the workplace. Students who are also in need of a diploma are given the opportunity to earn a GED or high school diploma while enrolled. All students attend on a federal scholarship after being deemed eligible according to Job Corps guidelines. While most students reside on campus local students may be considered for non-residential status.
