Dunkirk High School announces summer pool schedule
The Dunkirk High School Pool has announced the details of the summer pool program.
Open swim is scheduled from July 6 through Aug. 21 Mondays through Fridays. Session 1 will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Session 2 will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The cost is $2 per swimmer per session. Swimmers under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Learn to swim classes are for the following age groups: Guppies (beginners,) Minnows, Fish, Sharks and Dolphins (advanced,) and IPAP (infant/parent course where the parents are in the pool with the younger children.) Swimming classes will take place Monday through Friday.
Session 1 runs July 6 through July 17. Session 1A is 8 to 8:45 a.m. (IPAP) Session 1B is 9 to 9:45 a.m.; Session 1C is 10 to 10:45 a.m. and session 1D is 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.
Session 2 runs July 20 through July 31. Session 2A is 8 to 8:45 a.m. (IPAP) Session 2B is 9 to 9:45 a.m.; Session 2C is 10 to 10:45 a.m. and session 2D is 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.
Registration for the Learn to Swim classes will take place June 20 in the high school pool lobby from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for Dunkirk residents and 10:30 a.m. to noon for all others. The cost for Dunkirk residents is $35 for the first child, $30 for the second child, and $25 for additional children. The cost for non-Dunkirk residents is $40 for the first child, $35 for the second child and $30 for additional children. All registrations must be paid in cash. No checks can be accepted. All classes will be filled on a first come first serve basis. All parents are asked to stay in the balcony area to avoid confusion on the pool deck. No food or drinks are allowed in the pool or balcony area.
