Driver 4.5 times over the limit causes accident
OBSERVER Photos by Dan Kohler: A driver found to have a blood alcohol content four times over the legal limit caused an accident on Ellery Centralia Road in the town of Ellery Wednesday night. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was called to a two-car accident around 9 p.m. Deputies’ investigation revealed Randall H. Samuelson, 64, of Bemus Point, veered into oncoming traffic, striking the other vehicle. He was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody, where his BAC was found to be .36. No injuries from the accident were reported. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to keep right and refusal to take a roadside breath test. He will appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date.
