Eight charged in Jamestown marijuana bust

JAMESTOWN — Eight people were taken to jail today after a large quantity of marijuana and cash were seized at a Prendergast Avenue residence.

At 6 a.m., members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and New York State Police CNET executed a search warrant at 853 Prendergast Ave.

Inside, police reportedly found 3/4 of a pound of marijuana, $3,570 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Five individuals were found inside and charged.

Angel L. Ortiz-Rodriguez, 39; Elizabeth Rodriguez, 41; Steven Eliel Rodriguez, 23; Telly Ortiz Jr., 20; and Joshua C. Stam, 23; were all charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Stam was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Three other individuals were apprehended outside the residence after they allegedly became disorderly with police.

Eileen Rodriguez, 20; Hector Montanez, 31; and Duane R. Sikes, 47; were all charged with disorderly conduct.

Rodriguez was additionally charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. Montanez was charged with obstructing governmental administration.

All individuals were taken to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.

The Jamestown Police Department’s SWAT Team assisted with entry into the residence.
