Festa Italia Fredonia Italian Festival planned for Aug. 12

On Saturday, Aug. 12, the village of Fredonia will host the second annual Italian Festival.

The purpose of the Italian Festival is to promote the culture, food, music and heritage of the Italian ancestry. To that end, local restaurants will serve their Italian specialties, wine and beer will be served by a local winery and a local brewery, music will be shared by local performers, and genealogy will be facilitated by the local CIAO organization at the Barker Library and in the Barker Commons. There will also be activities for children.

The Italian Festival will take place on Church Street, near the gazebo starting at noon.

Last year’s event drew a large crowd, and a good time was had by all. The committee would like to continue that tradition this year. Be a part of this cultural event — enjoy local food, music, wine, beer, ancestry and friendships.

For more information, or if interested in volunteering to help, call 672-7510 and leave a message. Calls will be returned as quickly as possible.
