Silver Creek man found with 28 bags of weed

EVANS — A speeding violation turned into a drug bust as a Silver Creek resident was found with 28 bags of concentrated cannabis and over $550 worth of marijuana, Evans Police report.

An Evans police officer reported that Brett C. Logan was travelling 66 miles per hour on Versailles Plank Road, a 45 mph zone, on Sunday at 7:11 p.m.

During the stop, patrol sniffed a strong odor of marijuana and in plain view, there was a black tray of loose marijuana, police reported. A subsequent search reportedly found a sandwich bag of marijuana, a ziplock bag containing 28 individual bags of concentrated cannabis, a digital scale and numerous bags for packing.

Logan was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, speed violation and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was released to appear in Evans Town Court at a later date.
