Now in its 25th year, Jamestown Community College’s Kids’ College has provided high quality, educational experiences to thousands of children in northern Chautauqua County.
The four-day summer program for youth ages 8-12 will take place July 9-12. Classes meet Monday through Thursday.
Participants can choose from 28 classes, and both full day and half day sessions are available.
Tuition for full day Kids’ College, which includes lunch and a Kids’ College T-shirt, is $199, and half-day enrollment is $99. Full day classes run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and half-day options are 8 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“We’re excited about the Kids’ College lineup this summer,” said Elizabeth Booth, director of JCC’s North County Center. “Our small class sizes allow instructors to share engaging, hands-on educational courses with our students.”
Courses include Awesome Authors, Canvas Creations, Exponential Explosions, Field Day Fun, Lego Robotics, Super Cool Science, When in Rome, Burstin’ Burlap, Chemical Concoctions, Delicious Desserts, Geology Rocks, Let’s Explore Germany, Shootin’ Hoops, Can You Dig It?, Chatting about China, Musical Madness, Ninja Games, Pirate Island, Art Club, Bugs and Bones, Can You Cook?, Idea Machine Improv, Nerf Games and Survivor.
“Kids’ College is an excellent opportunity for young people to have a great time learning,” said Jackie Patterson, Kids’ College project manager. “They also enjoy making new friends and get a sneak peak at a small college campus,”
A limited number of tuition scholarships are available for students who are eligible for the federal free and reduced lunch program.
Registration for full day participants is underway at the JCC North County Center, located at 10807 Bennett Road, Dunkirk. To register, or for more information, call JCC.
