Spanish language PCA training set June 20 in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN — Are you a compassionate person who enjoys working with and caring for people?

The Workforce Development division of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES is offering Spanish Language Personal Care Aide Training on Wednesday, June 20, at the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The tuition is $460, but funding may be available for those meeting eligibility requirements are met.

Becoming a PCA is a good option for someone interested in the nursing field but who isn’t sure which path to take. A PCA job can set you on a fast track to further your career in the medical field. PCA is a career for those wanting to work in the medical field on a more personal level with patients in a home setting. E2CCB offers a 60-hour PCA training program at the Gateway Center and attendance is mandatory for course completion.

Admission requirements: To be considered for admission to the Personal Care Aide program, students will need to attend a minimum of 12 hours of ESLO classes offered through E2CCB at the Gateway Center beginning July 2, 2018.
