Cushing, Eagle streets paving delayed

The Village of Fredonia will be paving Cushing Street, between Green and Main streets and Eagle Street, between Main Street and Lakeview Avenue July 31-Aug. 3. This is a week later than originally announced due to the supply of blacktop being delayed.

During that time there will be no on-street parking and possible road closings.

Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House at its Adoption Center on Saturday, July 21 from 12 to 4 pm. The center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Come to see the facility, and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

If unable to come to an Adoption Day, please call 672-1991 to arrange an appointment to see the dogs and cats awaiting adoption. (One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet.) Also, LHS will hold an “Adoption Evening” on Wednesday, July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Barker Library presents “Say No to Bullying”

Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia, will present a special program Friday morning, July 20 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. “Say No to Bullying” with magician Mike Seege is high energy comedy and magic with a message. All kids are welcome. No registration is required.

Sheridan Post 6390 VFW Auxiliary Bake Sale set for today

The Auxiliary for the Sheridan VFW Post 6390 will hold a bake sale this Friday, July 20, in the lobby of the VFW Post, located at 2556 Main Road in Sheridan. The bake sale will begin at 4:30 p.m. and continue during dining hours at the regular Friday night fish fry. All auxiliary members are requested to donate a dessert.
