Wellness seminar to benefit breast cancer survivors

The Breast Cancer Network of WNY (BCN), an independent non-profit organization, along with Yoga Underground, 3817 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk, is presenting a Yoga Practice for Breast Cancer Survivors seminar on Wednesday, July 25 at the Yoga Underground Studio.

The free seminar is part of a ten part wellness series designed for breast cancer survivors funded by a grant received from the New York State Department of Health. Administered by BCN, the grant provides funding for wellness seminars on such topics as yoga, meditation, integrative medicine, and nutrition. The seminar will begin at 6:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be provided. Registration is required and can be made online at www.bcnwny.org or by calling BCN at 706-0060.

The seminar will be given by Lynda Sandoval, director of Yoga Underground, who has received specific training in yoga for survivors and instructs on all practices of yoga including restorative and chair yoga.

The Breast Cancer Network of WNY, founded in 1988, is dedicated to the education, support, and advocacy for breast cancer patients and survivors of WNY. This volunteer driven organization is located in Depew, and offers a full schedule of support groups, restorative health classes, education programs, and outreach for survivors and newly diagnosed patients.
