Collins Library announces September activities

Creek Bend

COLLINS — The Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main St., Collins, will host a free bluegrass concert on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. This concert features Creek Bend, a bluegrass band based in Buffalo. Creek Bend has been serving up good, hot bluegrass music for 30 years. The amazing group plays banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, harmonica, and accordion.

The band features Phil Banaszak on fiddle, who was inducted into the North American Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame in 2005. Rich Schaefer is an original member of Creek Bend, playing bass and lead and bass vocals. Chris Panfil has traveled around the country playing bluegrass, and now plays guitar and mandolin and sings tenor and lead. Mark Panfil has played with Creek Bend since 1983, and is the man on the dobro, but also plays fiddle and harmonica.

Creek Bend features talented musicians who will make you laugh, sing, and learn a few things during your time with them. Enjoy some traditional favorites from a band who can play an amazing variety of music. Sponsored by The Friends of the Collins Public Library. Call the library at 532-5129 for additional information about this or any other library programs.
