SUNY Fredonia Blue Devil swim team members welcome pupils to School 5 this morning.

Members of the State University of New York at Fredonia athletic teams were up early today — and it was not just for practice.

Team members gathered at elementary schools in Dunkirk and Fredonia as part of the Celebrate Monday initiative. At School 5 in Dunkirk, swim team members welcomed students at the Brigham Road facility with high fives and hellos.

Last year, the Blue Devil teams did this only at the Fredonia school district, but this year decided to include the city.
