South Dayton woman charged with possession of drugs

SOUTH DAYTON — On Thursday at about 10:10 p.m. following a drug investigation by the Olean Office of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Taskforce into the selling of illegal narcotics, Laurie Newcomb, 41, of South Dayton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

That night a search warrant was executed at her Pine Street address. The search allegedly resulted in the discovery of packaging, scales, pills and crystal methamphetamine.

Multiple charges are still pending and further arrests are to be made. Newcomb was arraigned at South Dayton Town Court and was taken to jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.
