Knights Against Cancer give back during the holiday season

Knights Against Cancer — a contingent of community-minded students from the Silver Creek Central School District — volunteered at the 2018 Courage of Carly Fund at Roswell Park Holiday Party at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. The group of 18 students was accompanied by advisor/teacher Jessica Kardashian, who noted the annual event, which includes working with pediatric cancer patients and their families, is an incredible thing for the students to experience. “It’s one of the most rewarding and fulfilling activities that we get to be a part of and always turns into an incredible dance party,” said Kardashian. “It truly puts our students in the Christmas spirit and allows them to see the true meaning of the holiday season.” The students helped in a variety of activities including cookie-decorating, arts and crafts projects including making snowmen, sprinkle ornaments, and paper snowflakes as well as organizing a selfie station, a scavenger hunt and a game of pin-the-nose on Rudolph.
