Sub-zero readings noted throughout area

Just how cold was it overnight?

According to the National Weather Service, many areas of Western New York had sub-zero temperatures. The coldest reading in Chautauqua County was in Frewsburg at -5 while Mayville recorded -4. Brocton, North Collins and Gowanda reported -3 and Dunkirk -1.

Across the area, the coldest reading was -11 in Ellicottville.

Add in the wind, and the real feel around the region was as low as -20.

Wind chill readings from the National Weather Service note -25 in Mayville overnight and -21 in Dunkirk.

For today, a wind chill warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. with a high possibly reaching 10. Warmer temps are on the way for Tuesday and Wednesday with rain possible at mid-week.
