Two Panama residents facing drug charges

PANAMA — Two Panama residents are facing drug charges following a traffic stop Friday evening.

At around 6:27 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle On East Main Street in Panama for an alleged traffic violation.

Further investigation found that the operator of the vehicle, Darian A. Leech, 22, of Sherman, and the passenger, Benjamin A. Troyer, 19, of Sherman were allegedly in possession of approximately two grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug packaging material and several scales.

Both Leech and Troyer were taken into custody and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and Unlawful possession of marijuana.

Leech and Troyer were arraigned and taken to Chautauqua County Jail with no bail.
