P.S. I Love You!

Submitted Photo

Miss Perry’s Kindergarten class at Dunkirk School 3 recently participated in “P.S. I Love You Day.” This special day was created to “stand up against bullying, help those who are suffering from depression, and ultimately prevent suicide. This day has been recognized since 2011 and is held every second Friday of February. Students were encouraged to wear purple “in order to foster kindness and a welcoming environment” in accordance with the P.S. I Love You Day mission. Miss Perry’s class made a “Friendship Contract” together to share with the rest of the school. The poster included handprints of each student with their name signed around the border. Together they all came up with different ways on “How to be a good friend.” Some examples include: make people feel better when they are sad, be happy for friends that have good news, invite friends sitting or playing alone to be with us, use our manners, ask someone if they are ok when they get hurt, give a hug to someone who needs it and always have each other’s’ backs! Students then designed their own colorful hearts to display on the wall to show the love they have to offer the world! Adults pictured from left include Miss McDonald, Miss Val, Miss Loretta, Miss Perry, along with students of Miss Perry’s Kindergarten Class.
