Chautauqua County Libertarians hold annual convention in Fredonia
The Chautauqua County Libertarian Party held its fifth annual convention at EBC West in Fredonia last month, which was well attended.
Chair Andrew Martin Kolstee called the convention to order and introduced Larry Sharpe, the Libertarian Party’s 2018 candidate for governor of New York. Sharpe spoke on the continued momentum of the Libertarian Party of New York and the party’s future plans. He then introduced Gerrit Cain, Secretary of the Chautauqua County Libertarian Party, who is running for Chautauqua County Legislature District 16. This was followed by business along with presentations from numerous other candidates seeking the party’s endorsement.
The business portion included bylaws amendments and the election of officers for 2019-2020: Andrew Martin Kolstee as Chair and Treasurer, Len Morlock as Vice Chair and Gerrit Cain as Secretary. Gerrit Cain was unanimously endorsed as the Libertarian Party candidate for Chautauqua County Legislature District 16. The district contains the Towns of Poland, Carroll and Kiantone. Additionally, 3 attendees enrolled as members of the Libertarian Party.
The Chautauqua County Libertarian Party is a chapter of the Libertarian Party of New York and was formed to advance liberty in Chautauqua County and give the people of Chautauqua County another choice.
