Collins Public Library June programming announced

COLLINS — The Collins Public Library, located at 2341 Main St., Collins, has announced programming for June. When reservations are required, call the library at 532-5129 or stop by.

Computer Class — Introduction to Facebook: Saturday, June 1, 12 to 2:30 p.m. Students will set up a personal Facebook profile, learn how to upload a profile photo, update a status, send a private message, add a friend, and learn about the privacy settings. Free and open to Library patrons age 17 and above. Registration required.

Lap Sit with Miss Abbie: Mondays: June 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 10:30 a.m. Join in for this fun program for children ages 6 months to 2 years with a caregiver. A great introduction to early literacy skills with rhymes, finger plays, music, stories and more. Sign-up required.

Evening Book Club: Tuesday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m. Discuss “The Radium Girls” by Kate Moore. Request a copy on line or stop by the Library Desk.

Teen Craft Night: Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. Join in each month for a fun craft for teens! Registration required, call to find out what the craft is and to register! Ages 12 to 17.

Quilting with Florence: Every Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join these knowledgeable ladies as they work on projects.

Toddler Time: The next 3-week session of Toddler Time begins Friday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. Read stories, play games, sing songs and have a snack. Ages 2 to 5. Call or stop in to register!

Friends of the Collins Public Library Meeting:Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m. There are applications in the Library or come to the meeting. Always looking for enthusiastic people who love their library.

Tinkering in the Library! Saturday, June 8 at 12 p.m. With different rotating activities each month, there will be new things to explore. Fun for the whole family. Stop by or call to sign up.

Celebrate Fathers: Monday, June 10 at 6 p.m. Children 3 to 10 to can attend with their father, grandfather or caregiver. Children will make a special keepsake and card. Children and guests will make worms and dirt pudding snacks to enjoy during stories about the joys of being a father. Registration required by Monday, June 3. Library Board Meeting: Thursday, June 13 at 6 p.m. Open to the public. All are welcome!

Music in the Library Concert Series: Join us Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m. for a free concert by Paul Zittel and Pure Country, and if the weather is good it will be held outside where there will be lots of room for dancing.

Hot Dog Roast: Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out. Friends of the Library will be holding a bake sale inside. Also, there will be tinkering at 12 p.m. All proceeds benefit programming and materials for the Library.

Morning Book Club: Monday, June 17 at 11 a.m. Discuss “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. Request a copy online or at the Library Desk.

LEGO Club: Tuesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. Come and play with LEGOs in the Library. We will put your creation on display in the Library. Ages 4 to 12. Registration required.

Story Hour-Summer Reading Kick off: Thursday, June 20 at 6 p.m. Staff will introduce the summer reading program “A Universe of Stories.” Read stories, play games, make a craft and have a snack all with an outer-space theme. Open to ages 0 to 12 (under 4 with caregiver).

Craft Club: Monday, June 24th at 6 pm. Come and make crafts in the Library. This month’s theme will be A Universe of Stories. Ages 4 to 12. Registration is required.

Make your own Galaxy Slime: Tuesday, June 25, 4:30 to 6 p.m. All materials are provided to make your very own Galaxy Slime. Open to all ages. Sign up if wishing to attend.

Did you know? Erie County Library cards are available to all Erie County residents, all individuals who work in Erie County, and all those who live in the Gowanda School tax district.
