The Dunkirk Fire Department responded to an SOS just beyond the break wall near the Dunkirk City Pier early Tuesday evening. Too far away to be seen in the picture, the boat apparently became disabled and began drifting east. Rescuers reached the boat safely and began the long process of towing the vessel back in. The Coast Guard also responded to the SOS.
