Jamestown woman charged in heroin bust

JAMESTOWN — A large quantity of heroin was discovered following an investigation by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force.

Stacey J. Peterson, 32, was taken into custody after the vehicle she was in was stopped Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Fluvanna Avenue Extension. The stop was the result of an investigation by the Jamestown and Southern Tier Regional Drug task forces.

Inside the vehicle, police reported finding 51.1 grams of heroin and a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

Peterson was charged with third- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation. She was arraigned in Mayville and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.

Investigators were assisted by Jamestown police, the New York State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
