Sheridan Historical Society plans Memorial Day weekend events

The Sheridan Historical Society, located at 2702 Route 20 at Center Road, Sheridan has planned two events for Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, May 25, the Society will hold an open house and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Along with the permanent collection, a temporary exhibit in commemoration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of D-Day will be on display. Tickets for a beautiful full-size quilt pieced by a society member will go on sale. Tickets will be available from any member until the drawing on Election Day.

On Monday, May 27, the Sheridan Historical Society will hold an open house and bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon. At 10 a.m., Trustee Traci Langworthy will present a talk on Rev. John Spencer, a Revolutionary War veteran, ordained minister and missionary who came to Sheridan in 1807. A door prize will be won by one lucky talk attendee.
