Boardwalk parking lot under construction
Many of the shops down in the city of Dunkirk’s Boardwalk were closed Monday as contractors laid concrete for the city’s current pier project. Mayor Wilfred Rosas shared with the OBSERVER that the closings were “voluntary by the business owners and not mandated by the city.” He also said that “any business is welcome to be open for foot traffic while the parking lot is shut down and that the city has set up a way for them to receive their deliveries.” Contractor work on the current paving aspect of the project should last about a week to a week-and-a-half for completion.
