Silver Creek-Hanover Garden Club is participating in the 2019 NCCF BLOOM program

Silver Creek — Hanover Garden Club is excited to announce that we are participating in the North Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) BLOOM program. This program replaces our Spruce Up Silver Creek recognition program, but the rules and purpose remain the same.

Last year, we recognized 55 gardens in the village Silver Creek and Town of Hanover area. This year due to the generosity of the NCCF, we are happy to announce that we’ll be able to recognize 60 deserving gardens. Our club volunteers will be evaluating gardens beginning in early July, so if you haven’t planted a garden yet, there’s still time! Remember that each garden that is recognized has a chance to be entered into a drawing for a Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce gift certificate.

The BLOOM program is intended to encourage communities to contribute to a more beautiful region and to say thank you for the color and character that garden stewards bring to our neighborhoods.

¯ All front/side yards in the village of Silver Creek and areas immediately adjacent in the Town of Hanover are eligible (we must be able to see the garden from the street). You do not need to enter to be recognized – we proactively evaluate gardens.

¯ Yards will be evaluated July 8th through 29th.

¯ Yards that are recognized will receive a BLOOM sign for their garden, a “thank you” bag, a complimentary 1-year membership in the Silver Creek-Hanover garden club, and a chance to be entered in a drawing for a Chautauqua County Chamber Buck Gift Certificate. There will be one $100 gift certificate, two $50 certificates and eight $25 certificates this year!

¯ Gift certificate winners will be announced at the 51st Festival of Grapes, September 2019. Please stop by our booth to see which Silver Creek yards were recognized.
