Valvo’s Candies in Silver Creek is celebrating a huge milestone this Father’s Day weekend, commemorating 100 years in business in the village. The family-owned candy business has appeared on several travel/food/leisure television shows and is now in its third generation of ownership, managed by Susan Valvo. The store goes all the way back to their grandfather, Emil Valvo, who bought the store from the previous owner after he came through Ellis Island from Aliminusa, Sicily with his mother in 1919.
