Four facing drug charges after stop in Sherman

SHERMAN — Four area residents are facing drug charges after a vehicle check point stop on Sunday afternoon by the New York State Police.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force were called to further investigate the incident around 4:15 p.m. The investigation revealed that Andrew R. Sobilo, 30, of Dunkirk, Brian A. Christina, 50, of Fredonia, Lamont E. Brown, 31, of Dunkirk and Loren E. Duman, of Dunkirk were in possession of a half-ounce of cocaine, a quantity of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Sobilo was found to possess and additional quantity of cocaine, heroin, methadone, and a hypodermic instrument.

Sobilo, Christina, Brown, and Duman were all charges with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Sobilo was additionally charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Sobilo, Christina, Brown, and Duman were arraigned and sent to Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
