City tree inventory meeting set

With the support of Mayor Willie Rosas, City of Dunkirk Planning and Development staff invites the community to a public meeting to learn about the results of Dunkirk’s recent Tree Inventory project and to provide feedback for the vision of the City’s community forest moving forward. The project, funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, has concluded the survey portion of the project and will use that data, along with community feedback, to produce a management plan for Dunkirk’s trees, parks, streets, and land. The goal of the project is to create a tree inventory and management plan that can serve as the foundation for increased community investment and the future care of the City’s community forest.

The meeting will take place in the Mayor’s Conference Room at City Hall, located at 342 Central Ave., on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. For more information, contact Jill Meaux, Community Development Planner at 366-9878 or jmeaux@cityofdunkirk.com
