EVANS – A 13-year-old Evans boy was caught joyriding in his father’s car on the Seneca Nation of Indians Reservation.

On Aug. 26 at roughly 12:46 a.m., a victim reported that his son had taken his vehicle and he was unable to locate him. Police checked several of the 13-year-old’s known hangouts with no results. The vehicle was eventually located, stopped on Route 438 on the Seneca Nation of Indians Reservation by New York State Police, Erie County Sheriff’s Department and Seneca Nation of Indians Marshalls. The 13-year-old and his 14-year-old girlfriend were transported to Evans Police Department by New York State Police.

After obtaining statements from the 13-year-old and his father, they were issued juvenile appearance tickets to appear in Erie County Family Court. The girlfriend was turned over to her grandmother at the station.
