Silver Creek Community Education plans personal growth opportunities

SILVER CREEK — The public is invited to develop their leadership, productivity, self care, and communication skills this fall via several unique courses being offered through the Community Education division of Silver Creek Central School District. All classes will take place in the high school library on Dickinson Street.

≤ Empowered Women: A five-week class (Self-care, Part 1) to enlighten women on becoming stronger and more confident in controlling one’s life. Each week will focus on a different theme: Health, Gratitude, Proficiency, Laughter, and Joy Boomerangs. Sessions led by instructor Betty Bates will be held Wednesdays from Oct. 2 through Oct. 30, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration fee: $25.

≤ Planning Clinic: Come join instructor and personal/business coach Linda Morrison and learn how to get back in the driver’s seat of your life. You will learn how to plan your day, week and month for optimum productivity! Bring a calendar (planner) and a notebook. No matter what your role is, whether you are in management of a company or a home, planning is essential to save time and reduce stress! At the end of the class, you will walk away with lots of helpful resources. Sessions will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15 or Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration fee: $10.

≤ Goal Mastery: What does it take to set clearly defined goals and meet them? Join instructor Morrison on either Thursday, Oct. 17 or Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and: Discover the 3 characteristics of highly successful people; implement a plan to guarantee that your goals will be a success; leverage the goal setting process to guarantee results; discover the secret to sustainable motivation; manage and measure your progressive success; and learn how to use over 10 ‘Focused Perspective’ tools to win/succeed. Registration fee: $25.

≤ Vision Boarding: Achieve your goals faster by visualizing your future. It will boost your motivation and increase your productivity. Vision boards use the Law of Attraction to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. What do you envision? Building a dream house? Losing weight? Vacationing in Mexico? Being debt free? Learn about the importance of affirmations in your daily life. Attendees and instructor Morrison will create vision boards in 2 different ways: using a laptop/iPad or bring your own poster board, pre-cut pictures pertaining to your goal/vision, glue stick and Sharpie. Classes will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22 or Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration fee: $20.

≤ Communication 101: No matter what season of life you are in (leader, CEO, husband, wife, teacher, etc.), you need to know how to effectively communicate with others. Communication either adds to a relationship or breaks it down. In this course led by Morrison you will learn: the five types of communication; the difference in communication between generations; how to communicate effectively; using the enneagram, disc profile or Myers/Briggs to help you determine “who’s who in the zoo” when communicating in a group. Sessions will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29 or Thursday, Nov. 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration fee: $20.
